A fun and meaningful event focused on celebrating people and the books that bring community and clarity to their personal and professional lives.
“A book lying idle on a shelf is wasted ammunition. Like money, books must be kept in constant circulation… A book is not only a friend, it makes friends for you. When you have possessed a book with mind and spirit, you are enriched. But when you pass it on, you are enriched threefold.”
– Henry Miller, The Books in My Life
Book It!, presented by Jodi O’Donnell Ames
The Experience
Book It! is a curated in-person or virtual gathering designed to bring people together through the power of books. Each guest brings a gift-wrapped book that changed their life — personally or professionally — along with a story of why it mattered. Over a shared meal, stories are exchanged, connections are formed, and everyone leaves with both a book and a deeper sense of gratitude. After the event, recipients send a thank-you note to the giver, completing the circle.
What do businesses and corporations gain from Book It! ?
A book, when used intentionally, can be a powerful tool for connecting, team building and personal growth because it creates a shared community, shared discussion and shared shared reflection that helps to encourage effective relationships and break down communication barriers.
Five key takeaways:

-

-
